Biography:

Spawn is a comic book character created by Todd McFarlane and published by Image Comics.

Formerly known as Albert Francis "Al" Simmons, he was a highly skilled U.S. Marine and CIA operative who was betrayed and murdered.

After making a deal with the demon Malebolgia, Simmons is resurrected as a Hellspawn, a demonic warrior, and returns to the mortal realm with limited memories and a grotesque appearance.

Spawn first appeared in *Spawn* #1, released in May 1992.

Haunted by his past and burdened with his demonic powers, Spawn fights against both Heaven and Hell, seeking to break free from Malebolgia's control and protect the innocent.
